06 Aug Summertime Update 2019: Upcoming Events

Hello vintage lovers! Rob here with a little Summertime update for you all. I hope the warmer months are treating you all well and you’re getting a good dose of that Vitamin D. I know for us at the shop, it’s been absolutely insane! (In a good way, of course.) As the Summer of 2019 comes to a seemingly rapid close, I wanted to make you all aware of some really fun and special events we are a part of in the back half of the year, including a revival of our collaboration with Charlie Dog Vintage!

West Gay St. Block Party during the Benchmark Twilight Cycling Classic, 8/10 – Final Summertime Event!

The bike race is back in town, but this year West Gay Street is spicing things up with a little block party! Swing by for live music from Afrobear, dunk tank shenanigans, face painting, bracelet making, corn hole tournaments, and more! It’s sure to be a fun time for everyone while the racers surge through the borough.

Malena’s Vintage Boutique x Charlie Dog Vintage: Fall Edition, 9/29

For the culmination of Summer 2019, on Sunday, September 29th, we are hosting our good friends Mike & Claire, owners of Charlie Dog Vintage, for another amazing showroom event! All of our inventory & Charlie Dog’s will be 20% off except for fine jewelry and consigned pieces. It’s a Summertime blowout sale for sure, and we can’t wait to show you what we pull together. We might even have an additional surprise guest!

Fall Gallery Walk & First Friday at Malena’s Vintage Boutique, 10/4

Summertime is over, and you know we can’t start Autumn off without the Gallery Walk! The annual Fall Gallery Walk returns once again to Downtown West Chester! On October 4th, we’ll have extended hours and a little discount just for the event. The showroom won’t be open this time (???) as we recover from our collaboration with Charlie Dog and prepare for our trek to the Manhattan Vintage Show once again. The Gallery Walk is always one of my personal favorite events in town. The walk features the work of multiple local artists and some of the shops have the opportunity to host an artist and their work. It’s usually a great time to venture through town before the temperature drops, and a great opportunity for a little date night!

The Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show, 10/18 & 10/19

Once again, we are heading to The Big Apple for the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show! It’s been a year since we began vending at the exhibition and we are so excited to be back with even more experience under our belts. Every time we go, we meet amazing new people and see a truly incredible vintage. We are anxious to see what everyone brings to the show this Fall. We will be bringing a large collection of items of varying seasons, from Summertime swimwear to winter coats, we’ll literally have you covered.

Shop Small West Chester Weekend: 11/29 – 12/1

Yes – even in the Summertime we already have the holidays on our brain. I know it’s hard, but in retail, you always have to think 6 months ahead. Its our final sale of the year! The annual Shop Small West Chester Weekend begins on Black Friday and continues on Small Business Saturday and closes the following Sunday. We’ll be opening the showroom for the last time in 2019 Friday and Saturday, and we’ll be sure to give out some extra deals heading into the Roaring 20s! It’s hard to believe we are already thinking about the holiday season with Labor Day only creeping around the corner! Time is flying by, but I know I speak for all of us here when I say how grateful we truly are for such an amazing community.

It’s been quite a year so far, and we still have so much in store for you guys for the rest of 2019. We hope to see you at one of our many upcoming events and popups!
